Android Contacts Logo

Recently, an acquaintance of mine brought me a question about his Android: "How do I remove my Facebook contacts from my list of contacts?"

My immediate thought was "Uh, I dunno." Then I turned to the omnipotent Google. Turns out it's pretty easy:

IE8 Mixed Content Security Warning: Do you really want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely? This webpage contains content that will not be delivered using a secure HTTPS connection, which could compromise the security of the entire webpage.

I ran into an oldie, but goodie today: "I have a website, that when I put it into 'secure mode' (that is to say https, rather than http), I lose some of my external content like images, SWFs and Twitter feeds."

Internet Explorer to the rescue. No, but seriously. Stop laughing. OK...I'll wait.

Marigold

I'm a smoker. Yes, boo hiss at me. I try to do most of my smoking outside, because I don't really like the way it makes my house smell, the toll it takes on my electronics, or the goo (technical term for "tar", I promise) that builds up in the A/C system, even though I run mine with a Filtrete 1900 MPR filter.

So, here's my not-so-humble opinion on how to address two major problems we as Americans face today: low voter turn out and broke local governments. Again, it's an opinion, and feel free to tell me how you feel I'm wrong, but it's my contention, I'm not.

I hadn't ever really watched anime until recently, and I've really only started because I've been through everything else I want to see on Netflix and Hulu Plus. There are a significant number of people out there who will say that culture is transmitted through a country's media.

Java update notification image.

So, I've upgraded four Macs (three iMacs and my MacBook Pro) to Lion now and had the same problem with each: as soon as I start up the machine and log in, I get clobbered with messages about not being able to find Java. So, now in an effort to help the world at large, apparently, I'm going to post where to find the update.

An earthenware jar with a cork lid, inscribed with the phrase 'Deadly Farts'.

So, to be fair, I've done a post on "Mom Brain" and am following it up, almost immediately, with a post on "Dad Brain". While Mom Brain can refer to both mothers and fathers, it is my contention that Dad Brain almost exclusively refers to the male parental figure.

A piece of twine tied around a finger as a symbol to remember to do something.

A few weeks ago, a good friend of mine introduced me to the term "Mom Brain", so here's my quick attempt to define and explain the phenomenon, and why it applies to dads as well, but should, under no circumstances, be referred to as "Dad Brain" (refer to other post!).

The actual name of this lily may not be 'octopus lily', but it does look like something from the deep.

I did not plant this lily in my yard. It was here when I moved in. Nor do I know what type of lily it is. The first year, I accidentally hit it with the mower. The second year, it was the weed wacker. This year, the lily has survived and is possibly the most interesting flower in my yard.
