So, I finally broke down and bought a VPS. Or rented. Or whatever one does with those.

I did two weeks of comparisons. I did himming and hawing. And then, I found an amazing deal. FortaTrust.

CrashPlan Logo

Yesterday I mentioned that I had to reformat one of my Macs (my 27"). It took about 5 hours to go through all of the steps from 10.6 back to 10.8.3, and a little under an hour to restore about 90GB of data from my backup drive, thanks to CrashPlan.

So...I'm an avowed cheapskate. I am, after all, my grandfather's grandson (Duke would be proud of me). I'm always looking for another way to make things better, faster and cheaper.

Today I hung the first bat house. I thought they'd need to go on an east-facing surface to make the most of the morning sun, so I bought two, however, it turns out that they require a north-facing surface to ensure all-day exposure (who knew? ... ok, just me, apparently).
